Yep, it's first post time.
Like an idiot I set this blog up within weeks of my baby being born thinking it would chart the magical adventure. I clearly had no concept of how much time a baby would take up.
Fifteen weeks later and I'm here, baby swinging in the door bouncer sneaking a quick post! There's been ups and downs (mainly from me) as the little one is an absolute star. Sleeping well, smiling and hardly ever crying.
I on the other hand was not prepared for being a parent. I'd put it off so long (I'm 30) because I knew it would be difficult, but not this difficult. Don't get me wrong, it's brilliant, I love it. But by Christ it's hard work!
My labour wasn't an easy one, my waters went on their own at 4.35am Weds 9/3/2011 but had to be induced when my contractions never really got going. I was put on a hormone drip and things finally got moving Thursday night. After 13 hours and 5cm I 'd had enough of the pain and had an epidural at 3am Friday.
After 1 1/2 hrs of pushing she was finally delivered by forceps at 9.42am as the cord was round her neck and her heartrate kept dropping at the start of contractions - she certainly knows how to make an entrance!!
Now here I am, a mum with a 15 week old beautiful baby girl! This blog will hopefully chart my journey of being a mum (while seeing if we can afford for me to be a stay at home mum). In the meantime please feel free to check out my knitting and crochet blog: http://handmadewoolcrafts.blogspot.com/
